Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Peshajibi Dal: Ideology, Struggle, and History
Introduction
The Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Peshajibi Dal is a unified platform for professionals who believe in the spirit of Bangladeshi nationalism. Inspired by the ideology of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and the guidance of Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia, this organization has been a cornerstone in the struggle to restore democracy and defend fundamental human rights since its inception.
1. Foundation and Inspiration
The journey of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Peshajibi Dal officially began on November 7, 2012. The organization was established under the direct guidance of the late Lieutenant General (Retd.) Mahbubur Rahman, a former member of the BNP Standing Committee, and the leadership of Founder President Ariful Islam Zia.
Following the principle that a professional body should consist of dedicated individuals aligned with Ziaur Rahman’s vision, an initial 21-member committee was formed with Ariful Islam Zia as President and Rudra as General Secretary. Since then, it has evolved into a powerful associate force within nationalist politics.
2. Struggles and Global Expansion
From its early days, the organization expanded its reach from the grassroots of Bangladesh to the international stage. Strong chapters have been established globally, including in Kuwait, Malaysia, Dubai, and Italy.
The organization played a historic role during the January 5, 2015 “Democracy Killing Day” protests. Despite the suppression and barriers imposed by the then-regime, thousands of members joined a massive procession at Purana Paltan under the leadership of Ariful Islam Zia. The disciplined presence and vibrant displays of the organization became a symbol of resistance. Other notable milestones include the successful observance of Maulana Bhasani’s birth anniversary at the National Press Club and the grand celebration of the organization’s 3rd anniversary.
3. Current Context and Future Vision
Today, the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Peshajibi Dal stands more organized and resilient than ever. Despite facing hundreds of lawsuits, physical assaults, and imprisonments during the previous autocratic era, our members remained steadfast in their ideology.
Following the historic Student-People Revolution on August 5, Bangladesh has been liberated from autocracy. In this new era, our organization is actively engaged in humanitarian efforts, honoring the martyrs and supporting those injured in the movement. Under the leadership of Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, we are currently restructuring our units nationwide and abroad to build a prosperous and self-reliant Bangladesh.
Conclusion
Our primary mission is to unite professionals from all sectors to safeguard the progress of democracy. We believe that a unified professional community is the key to delivering a discrimination-free and sovereign Bangladesh.
Stay with the Peshajibi Dal. Stand with Bangladesh.
